Pam Shamel's blog for EME5404 to explore usage of PBS resources for educators. Are the resources based in learning theory? How best to use the resources effectively? How to promote the information.
I have been attending this series of webinars. I particularly enjoyed the Looking for Lincoln one. It gave me a whole different side of the story that wasn't in our textbooks. I hope to be able to attend the one on Shakespeare next week.
ReplyDeleteDo you know if there is any way for participants to provide feedback?
PBS has been a great resource to me as a social studies teacher. I was not aware of the webinars but it seems like a great format for educators to discuss issues in our field and content itself. The Palfrey interview is very interesting and I'm hoping to have some time listen to the Lincoln webinar. It is amazing what opportunities the web is now offering to open up dialogue in education and all other areas. I look forward to your research into PBS and the possibilities the website offers.
ReplyDeleteI have found great resources from PBS throughout the years. Unfortunately, I have always just stumbled upon them. It will be interesting to learn more about what they offer through your research.
ReplyDeleteThe interview you posted was interesting. I like the format used. It seems like the webinar format will help make the information more accessible to teachers and others who are interested in the information that is out there. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your research.
Hi Pam;
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to open the webinar on my computer for some reason. I looked at the chat record to see if I could get the gist of it but it looks like the chat had moved along very quickly and there wasn't much specific information.
I was interested to see who watched John Palfrey's webinar. I wondered it they were individuals, educators, or students who were watching as part of an assignment? The topic "Teaching and Learning with Digital Natives" is certainly a relevant one for Educational Technology students.
